Maxis 3G

20 Oct

Im not sure why Maxis insists its customer to get their SIM card changed in order to be able to make video calls. I have activated 3G service by keying in *136#. I was worried if I have done something stupid that might lead to service interruption since i didnt change my sim card as maxis asked to in order to use 3G. I called 123 (service centre) and the operator insisted that I cant use 3G unless I pay some whopping RM 35 to get 3G SIM card.

After 2 hours, my phone status shows “3G” rather than “2G” previously. But hey… im using 64K SIM card only and Im able to make video call without any problem at all. So.. maxis have too much SIM card in stock and trying to make some money out of them?

By the way, Balik Pulau has 3G. Thats great for the jungle folks… hahaha :-P

This is because newer phones DO NOT support the old simcards anymore. Take for example my k800i. IT SAYS MY CURRENT SIMCARD IS INVALID. bah. must go back change. screw up maxis. Why my sg simcards that havent change probably as long as the maxis one working instead? must be they use old cheapskate simcards. haih. msia…

hahaha… i think maxis trying to make things easy by asking all to change to latest sim card even though some may still work. thats a waste of customer’s money if their existing ones still working.
