My laptop damage report

My 3 years old Acer Aspire 2010 failed me 2 weeks ago. I sent to Acer authorized service centre, Highpoint to repair the damage.

The right LCD bracket thats supporting the screen is broken. I have decided to change both side of the brackets. The left bracket is not at 90′ degree anymore, the joint got weaker and may get cracked one fine day. So, I asked them to change both side so that I wont need to send it for repair anytime in near future.

Cost of repair

2 brackets = RM 100

Labor charge = RM 100

Heck, labor charge is same as the parts price. Pricing quite expensive~! And it takes 8 working days to get my laptop back. Thats way way way turtle snail slow service. If I go to low yat to find some cha pa lang (Hugopedia: cha pa lang = “unknown brand”) shop repair, Im pretty sure they can fix it in 1 hour.

Lesson of the day: Close your LCD lid softly and nicely, do not use force! It will save you back the hassle of sending to repair , time and money.
