Dell XPS1330 Installing Windows XP (Part 3)
As I mentioned earlier in Part 2 that there was no solution for the sound device and three “System Base Device“.
After spending some time navigating around the sea of word wide web, I finally found the solutions. :d
The sound driver that works for this model available at Dell Download which is actually for Vostro 1400 but it still do the job well for 1330
As for the three “System Base Device” I mentioned which actually Dell has it for this model, and just that I missed it. Click here for the download page
And for the bluetooth, you can get it here.

Credit goes to cdn1967 (web) for suggesting the sound driver and peter.auld (web) for pointing me to him. And credit to google.com for finding the bluetooth driver..
The only noticeable lack I can feel is the Dell Quick Set that has OSD (On screen display) for volume, brightness changes etc etc…
Hopefully Dell can release “true” driver for XP and QuickSet soon…. Vista just isn’t fit for today’s every purpose. Compability issues still all around.

hi, greetings from e-stonia! thank You, I will continue with xp on my 1330. Problem is still with video driver, this one doesnt let install it and also power management missing (suspend mode). Any idea?

have you tried the graphics driver in Part 2? If it doesnt work out for you… try this one
as for the power management? its missing??? i can go standby.. whats your problem?

Both video drivers not suits.
There is log off, restart and shut down in list. Even power options properties doesnt show suspend and hibernation.
How about “audio device on high def. audio bus”, device manager complains it too?
Its vista preloaded and then xp.

compairing device manager, there missing human interface and monitor too, maybe this is the reason for video driver?

human interface would probably your fingerprint device, and monitor.. it doesnt really relate to your graphics.

i have tested the one in my blog part 2 and its working.. and for the link i posted earlier in my previous comment, it worked out for me as well.. more updated version i guess… maybe you can try to uninstall any driver in your graphics device first, then try run the setup.exe again.
as for the audio, you need to try “update driver” in your sound device few times to get it working. some ppl can get it done for the first time if they have enuf luck… hahah…
as for the power, you need to enable Hibernation in Power Options in Control Panel, for suspend aka standyby, should have it as default.. im clueless about this, sorry.
i strongly suggest you do it again from fresh XP installation… cheers~~

Hi,
after fresh xp installation (with achi driver) there still missing drivers for video, bcm2045 and high def. audio bus. Also stand by (suspend) and hibernation is not available. Maybe I have newest hardware?
But audio working fine comparing with vista when its interrupting.
Continue to find solution…

right after fresh installation, install INF(mobo INF) update, then run the graphics setup.exe, if you cant complete these 2 steps, then the devices you are having on your laptop are probably not typical xps1330 has….
maybe we can try logmein.com… hahah

I had the same problem. I have the Intel GM965 onboard graphics card. You can download the driver from intel.com.

Have you guys tried to use the firewire slot with XP?
Mine is well installed with the correct driver, but it seems to be that SP2 has problems with 1394 so that no device is getting recognized!
Has anyone experienced something similar?
