You can use the other hardisk where your operating system do not reside in as the paging hardisk. This would boost the performance of your computer instantly. I’m writing this presumably you are running on Windows XP. Just follow the steps below to get the job done.
1. Go to System Properties. Control Panel -> System
2. In there, click on the Advanced tab
3. Under Performance, click Settings
4. In there, click on the Advance tab.
5. Under virtual memory, click Change.
6. Your Windows XP installation normally resides on drive C: and you will see under drive C:,”System Managed Size” is chosen. Change it to No Paging File.
7. Now, select another drive which is not from the same hardisk, let say drive E:, under drive E:, change its option from “No Paging File” to System Managed Size. (To find out exactly the drive letter and on which hardisk they resides, righ-click on My Computer, select Manage, then choose Storage->Disk Management. You will get a graph representation of your hardisks.)
8. Last but not least, you need to restart your machine to feel the vrrooomm… :D
