ON 13 May 2008:
Good news for KL folks! I will keep this post short and sweet.
2 years of free wifi service will be kicking in the end of the month as reported by local radio station. User will be limited to 512kbps and 500MB max upload/download limit per month. Its more than enough for people on the move to check their emails and surf some important sites. Users need not to pay premium rate to their telcos on GPRS/3G data rate anymore after this service starts kicking!

UPDATE 24 July 2008: On an interesting note, our neighboring country, Singapore, has Wireless@SG. It beats KL for few reasons below.
- It offers FREE 3 years of wifi service to its users.
- Existing users that utilize this service paying 0.12cents per min can now no longer pay and enjoy the service for free.
- FREE VPN connectivity ensures secured surfing experience especially while you are surfing using public hotspot point.
- There is no known bandwidth cap like WirelessKL as far as I can see.
