tada~
My supervisor has gone MIA today so I spent most (almost all) of all working time on creating photo gallery based on flickr.
Click here to go to my photo album hosted using flickr in this very own website. You won’t jump over to flickr website!
Photos hosted under flickr are harvested from those in HugoLim Photography
If you are interested on the technical part, read on.
- I’m using the popular flickr gallery for wordpress namely slickr (click here to get to its page). Download it, throw into your plugin folder.
- Of course you will need one flickr account, register if you don’t have one.
- Active the plugin, customize, done! (Just follow readme.txt in the slickr folder.
- Next, presentation of your flickr gallery, there are fews theme created ready by slickr but often you will find it distorted / misaligned.
- In slickr setting page, choose Defaut theme. Open up file themes/Default/view.php, this is where the gallery gets rendered out.
- It should look familiar to you as it resembles your main index template (index.php) of your Wordpress. Add appropriate html/css coding to make it fits your theme.
- That’s it.
PS: If you have noticed, I have upgraded to Lightbox 2.5. When you click on photo in a single post, you will get to toggle around left and right to view the rest of the photos in that post.
I have added 2 rows at the random photos rendered at the header part in the main page. Those photos are from flickr and the upper 2 rows are from my own photo album gallery.
