Another blog is already hosted at this address
Okay, this blog post is intended for those with situation as below:-
- You are blogspot blogger. :)) (Of course, you are)
- Bought domain at godaddy.com thru blogspot’s “purchase a domain”
- And lastly, you get “Another blog is already hosted at this address” when trying to point your blogspot to your new domain.
With the purchase of domain thru that, you will be given a googe apps account. You can retrieve the details in the email sent to you after your domain is purchased.
Solution:
1. Log in to your Google Apps account as administrator.
2. Go to Service Settings -> Sites

4. There will be one entry only namely www. Select it and delete the record. Proceed with all the delete warning and confirmation. It’s safe. No worry here.
5. After you have finished with the deletion. Go to your blogspot dashboard and try to point to your new domain again. NOTE: In blogspot dashboard there, put your domain name with www prefix. Example: put www.hugolim.com instread of just hugolim.com and you do not need to check “redirect www.hugolim.com to hugolim.com”
6. That’s all. Very straightforward is’nt it. :D Happy blogging!
Technically, if this solution worked for you, then the reason why you getting this error would be…. google apps’s webservice(sites) is utilizing your domain thus your blogspot failed to get your domain linked up with it.
Resources:
I got by brain worked from these links:-

And if my solution above doesn’t work and you think its google’s database problem. Ask google to manually clear your domain from their database here https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?key=pZHHZdeYKeHitQbvxkvwnCg&email=true

I still have the same problem, unfortunately. I did not have another web address listed in my “Web Address Mapping” section, so I don’t know why I keep getting this error:
“Another blog is already hosted at this address”
when I try to merge the account to my new custom domain (yes, I purchased it through blogspot). So I am going the other route and asking Google to manually clear my domain. I hope it works. I will get back with you and let you know. Otherwise, I am clueless and will come back looking for more help! *crossing fingers*
