20 Jul

If you are trying to install the latest version of Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) and being asked for a installation disc (and you do not have one unfortunately) before the installation can continue, you are at the right place.

This is because it can’t find any existing installation of Canon DPP in your current machine, the solution is simple.

  1. Download Canon DPP version 1.0.0. Install.
  2. Download Canon DPP version 3.8.0. Install.
  3. If you are searching for Canon DPP version 3.8.1, please download here.

It is just that easy!

KL Bird Park (12 June 2010)

17 Jun

It was a sunny cooling Saturday morning when Wai Seng had decided to ‘fly another kite’ for this outing that we planned days ago just a night before the actual day. I would definitely not want to blame him for not being able to make it letting down his girl friend in particular due to the fact that he needed to watch a World Cup match the night before the outing and very concerned that he might not be able to wake up early to make it to the outing. How thoughtful he is!

I can’t tell you how much I adore my friend here for being able to keep up such a good reputation record after so many years! Bravo! For this, I would like to dedicate this post to my beloved friend, Wai Seng, who is now working very hard trying to find more customers for his bank he works for currently!

Here we go. A parrot that greets us and shouts “Wai Seng, Wai Seng where are you!” when we entered the park.

The entrance fees for Malaysian is RM 20. Oh ya! If you happen have a Metrojaya or Jaya Jusco or Real Rewards card like what Wai Seng always bring along, you can get a RM10 discount. But remember, each card entitles for one ticket only. So, you better know the trick!

This is one proud bird just like Wai Seng. Standing tall and always hold firm to the decision he makes. When he says “Yes”, he really mean it! You can always count on him!

Parrot, parrot and parrots. You can find lots of them in the World of Parrots section of the park. The park itself is quite big and for those like us and like Wai Seng that often carry a camera around snapping photos, you would probably need to spend about 3 hours in the park. So, it’s better to get up early, not to get addicted to watching World Cup match and staying up late and get to the park as early as you can.

All the photos with bird(s) are taken with a Canon 400D with Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM most of the time. The rest are probably with either a Canon EF-S 10-22mm or a Sigma 50mm f/1.4. You can always check the EXIF data and view them in full resolutions (5MP). Better still, make one as your wallpaper each day. Till then, take care and happy shooting and watching matches.

And these are some of the thumbnails of the collection.

Or you can even view in the slideshow. How cool is that! View in slideshow.

PS: Wai Seng Wai Seng, let’s make it real next time, okay! No zombies are hurt in the process of making this post and there isn’t any ill feeling or hatred towards any party mentioned in this post.

Old Raiway Station, Kuala Lumpur (1 May 2010)

03 Jun

Few days ago Bryan asked for a photography outing but he couldn’t make it to it. The few of us later on spontaneously had decided on a short trip to the old railway station after having a duck rice in Seapark, Petaling Jaya.

This is my second visit to the railway station. The first visit to the station was few years back when I was commuting, not photographing.

It was a good trip but we have not figure out on how to get to the roof top yet. Many wedding shots are done up there.

And some of the shots taken on the day. You can access to its full resolution and of course, EXIF details are intact.

The Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM is simply superb. Tack sharp at wide open with beautiful bokeh! But not to forget that my copy is not sharp when I got it but after a visit to the Sigma service center at Damansara Perdana, it’s my favourite now!

You can read more about the Sigma and browse for more real life sample photos at mylensdb.com.

A’Famosa Animal Safari World cruelty

20 May

This is a video clip that I obtained from Satkuru‘s facebook page. Why? This particular video made its way here in order to spread a simple message and you know what it is.

Just look at the ill-treatment by the workers of A’Famosa Resort. The worker there did not bother to do anything or feeling any sense of guilt despite being complained by the owner who took this video.

Experts from the lobby group Save the Tiger Fund estimate that only 3,200 tigers survive in the wild, down from 100,000 a century ago, mainly due to poaching and loss of habitat in south and southeast Asia.

With so little left in the wild, tigers are going into extinction soon.Needless for me to say that how much that we need to do our part to conserve theses big cats. Please spread the video around and do not visit A’Famosa resort Melaka.

Malaysia may have the first world country’s facility but with this worse-than-third-world-country’s management, we can’t go far.
