DSLR/ Camera shutter lifespan
I just found a good website on checking your camera shutter lifespan. For your information, your camera will not last forever and will eventually die!
Check your shutter lifespan expectancy at this website.
In there, select your camera model and simply look at the “Survival estimation” graph. For example, this is the graph for my Canon 400D.
The survival rate for mine is 87.9% for 23k shots.
Checking your Canon DSLR shutter count
Canon does not provide you the shutter directly. You need to do some calculation. It is easy.
Check your last image file sequence. For example, IMG_3300.jpg. And, it resides in folder named 902CANON. Ignore the ‘9′ in the front of the folder. Take the remaining number and multiply it with a thousand.
The total shutter count would be 20000 + 3300 = 23300
