TMNet Streamyx users may be experiencing difficulty to surf the Internet despite getting connected properly with no apparent reason of why you can’t surf. You restart the modem, use different browser, turn off and on this and that and not to avail. Then, its probably TMNet DNS has gone haywire.
What the heck is DNS? It’s like I say I want to go to Tesco. So, DNS will tell me in order to get to Tesco, you need this address: 123, Jalan Abc.
That’s how it works, more or less, in Internet. You want to go to yahoo.com, DNS will give you the IP 68.180.206.184 to your browser to surf into. Simple!
Problem here is TMNet DNS gone kaboom and not too stable most of the times. So, here’s the solution! Use alternative DNS like Singtel, TIME Net, OpenDNS and many more!
For Windows XP:
- Get to your Network Connection, pick your usual network adapter, right-click and choose properties!
- Select TCP/IP, click properties, select use the following DNS server addresses, fill in any values below.
